The Secret World of Arrietty 2010
At first I thought the film lacked exploration of more intricate themes despite having numerous chances to do so. And I believe I’m right, it does lack exploration, but that’s not at all a lack of awareness regarding the story.
This film was based off a children’s book and follows the themes of one: curiosity, exploring, friendship, kindness, etc. If you’re looking for a lighthearted film, look no further.

I Saw the TV Glow 2024
A great usage of psychological loss aversion. Schoenbrun throws us into the reality of Owen’s unfulfilling life because he never had the courage to “look inside.” This would surely give anyone in a similar situation a strong emotional motivation to look inside themselves to avoid a similar fate of leading a life of feeling “trapped.”
