Was great to see this classic, and if you are really into car chases and such entertainment this is definitely the one for you. Very well made and well executed, to the point where it still holds up pretty well. Was so focused on the action too, that the relationship between the two partners developed almost without any heart-to-heart dialogue, quite impressive. It did, however, run out of steam towards the end as the set pieces came across as repetitive and unimaginative. Worth a watch

This should be better remembered or more well-known. Exceptionally dark, but handled by anyone else would be rely on the stress and drama of the dire situations to provide the intrigue. But delicately balanced between each of the characters and their situations, a this harrowing story illuminates some anger he may have had for Japanese society amidst the compassion he always has for his characters, especially towards the way women were treated. Also I think his most cinematic so far, with some exquisitely framed and positioned shots that we got to linger on for a bit longer than usual. Memorable.

Unfortunately this review is coming two days after I saw it, giving me too much time to think about it. Had I written it immediatley after the movie, I may have given it 4 stars because the movie itself was actually quite funny. However, given time to actually think about what the movie was trying to say, the emotional reaction is only comparable to that from Don't Look Up.

Really really lovely watch that captured the idyllic nostalgia of a summer in the Irish countryside. Drew us in to the horrible upbringing of the girl and the contrast with the loving environment she was in for the summer. Extremely precise attention to detail made the whole situation very believable.

I don't think they had enough for a full feature length film as there were a lot of repetitive shots, overuse of some techniques, and a few scenes at the…
