A lot of these reviews are overthinking it. It’s not that fucking deep and there’s not that much to analyze. My suggestion: take an edible and enjoy it for what it is.

Criminally underrated. Not quite as great as the upper echelon of skits from the TV series, but comes damn close.
Literally a masterpiece. Don’t expect “the story of Marilyn Monroe” as in her accomplishments and highlights…the real story being told is about someone who had the ultimate manicured image and life, but still ended up killing themselves, and showing all of the low points leading up to it. It’s just as much a reflection on our modern day Instagram and image obsessed culture as it is about celebrity worship and killing sacred cows.

Found nothing impressive or redeeming about it. It’s acclaimed because of low expectations for modern cinema.
Visually and story wise, it’s little more than a Rick and Morty cartoon for people who want to feel like they’re watching something smarter than a Rick and Morty cartoon. Thematically, “I can learn to accept my gay child because nothing in life actually matters” is nauseating and borderline insulting to anyone with greater emotional intelligence than a 30 yr old mouthbreathing FunkoPop collector in a cumstained Tool tshirt who lives on Reddit.
