    Bong never disappoints.
The movie depicts class division, power imbalance, eugenics, propaganda through media, corrupt leaders, and imperialism in a science fictional story. I couldn’t help but find parallels that match real life characters and events: corrupted leaders who treat civilians as disposable beings in order to maintain their status and power (convinced Mark Ruffalo’s character is adapted from Donald Trump), colonialism and distorted news and propaganda that portray it as a forward movement (all i could think about was…

I love how the movie‘s goal is an honest depiction of drug dealers and consumers without any use of aesthetics or cinematography that accidentally romanticises that life.
    It’s painfully realistic.

Very realistic movie that portrays complex relationships between family members and people in general. Emotions when in conflict were portrayed realistically: stubbornness, pride, shame, desperation, etc. As a Middle Eastern, it felt as though I had been watching a movie about my own family members, since such conflicts are very common here.
