  had a blast with this one! there were moments early on i kept picturing Trump; Rupert's mannerisms, the way he said "excuse me" lol, and of course the accent. also, earlier the editing was a bit jarring and hyperactive; like how you become aware there is an editor doing his job, it has to be seamless, doesn't it? also, Jerry puts the tape in the envelope twice! in two cuts.

  anyway, overall a brilliant, really creative piece of work. well measured with the ebbs and flows, the cringing/2nd hand embarrassment and laughs, etc.

  oh i don't get her (gleeful in thinking it's her destiny to do *that*??).

  first hour was emotional and somehow coherent. the second half was a meandering borefest if im being honest.

  this is so real, beautiful, and moving. also very poetic and measured; the pauses, the silence. an exquisite reflection on aging, memory/nostalgia, loss, and the different facets of loneliness. a sharp contrast and fitting double feature would be Aloners (2021)
