The Map of Tiny Perfect Things 2021
This movie was like a sigh but one of those sighs of contentment when a moment or a movie or a line from a song hits just the right spot at just the right time.
A time anomaly movie isn’t something new and it has been done wonderfully in the past and recently with Palm Springs but that’s where the similarities end and this becomes something different.
The story, the actors, the music, it’s all heart. And all hope.

Babes in Toyland 1986
When I was a kid, we got this on tape with a McDonald’s VHS promotion. It’s the single reason why I know how to spell Cincinnati.
Keanu’s hair is a wonder in this movie. Those highlights. Thus began my lifelong crush.
You’re not meant to watch this movie as a grown person but as a child of the 80s where the sheer weirdness of it makes it fun to watch even if it boggles the mind how the actor who played Georgy Porgy didn’t quit in protest after seeing the pants he had to wear.

Mr. Wonderful 1993
Look. I love a saxophone. They are so powerful they can make or break a movie. Want a great example of saxophone solos in a movie? Go watch Teen Witch and get back to me. But here? Ugh. It’s like that friend that tries too hard and just makes things weird.

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Years ago my husband, upon hearing me wax poetic about this movie, managed to find me a copy of it in Canada. After importing it in, we realized that it didn’t work in our DVD player so he had to convert it and rip onto a dvd. This proves two things: my husband is an angel and my dedication to this movie knows no bounds.
A running list of what makes this movie 90s perfection:
