Alien Stage 2024
Hunger Games if it was K-pop and enforced by aliens. This is a short (still-in-the-works) youtube series where each episode is basically a music video. All the exposition and character work is compressed into the musical performance, which, naturally, ends with their opponent being literally eliminated. So it’s really fast paced and apparently there’s a lot of lore that I just scratched the surface of. I don’t think I even processed everything I was shown. But still, pretty cool!

Mickey 17 2025
Pretty fun movie. It obviously shares blood with Snowpiercer and Okja, especially the latter’s humorous satirical tone. It also shares their anticapitalist themes, while adding a colonial dimension and the whole concept of regenerating a person. Robert Pattinson even gets duplicated! Mickey 17 fits in a lot of elements and themes, to the point where it could almost seem bloated, but they all get ample space(!) to be explored and they fit together into a cohesive and altogether satisfying whole.
One of the goopier sci fi movies in recent memory.
