  The state strips away the rights of those who fight for our rights and freedom by abducting them. This is part of the dictator's playbook, no matter what their race is.

  I'm Still Here from Brazil is the third film I have seen about desaparacidos or enforced disappearances. The others were Argentina 1985 from Argentina and Alipato and Muog from the Philippines.

  The films came from different countries, but ultimately have the same ending. Desaparecidos remain missing. Their families continuously search for them. Perpetrators walk free. The state denies accountability. Justice has not been served.
