Not as bad as I was led to believe!

This was an absolutely gorgeous film - probably one of the most beautiful that Pixar (or Disney) has done in this century. That being said, the Dinos were so different in animation from the landscapes that they looked out of place at times.

The story was simple and the plot leaps are large, but I didn’t mind too much. I did really enjoy all the western motifs though, which is wild…

It’s been awhile since I was a teenager so the feelings of not belonging and my parents not understanding me are far away (mostly). But the themes are prevalent throughout and the film does a pretty good job of showing what it’s like to be a disaffected teen.

James Dean is great in this and I can’t wait to watch more of his films. I loved all the stuff at the observatory, especially the end which I thought was very affecting (because of Jim, not because of Plato the Puppy Killer).

Can’t believe I forgot about chekov’s (spoiler) until it came back into play.

All that aside tho, this was a well made film with fantastic performances by all three leads (and a surprise cameo from topher grace which was wild). I also loved the sound design - definitely a film worth seeing in Dolby if you get the chance.

This also proves the theory that if any man ever asks a woman to debate him, she should punch him in the throat and then run away. The motives are always no good.

Well this had all the conflict the first one was missing and I did like that, but it also ended SO fast, with only a speech about the magic of Christmas to change the minds of the "villains" and that was a little boring. Would've loved to actually see the Christmas games, but I'm sure there is another hallmark movie out there with Christmas games, so I'll just watch that.
