The Lighthouse 2019
I finally got around to watching this film, the last of my binge of Robert Eggers’ set, and I’ve left the theaters feeling desperate for a shower. The way this film makes you feel that you yourself are grotesque, cramped, filthy, in need of redemption, it was enough to make me feel mad.
Loved the visuals, astonished by the acting, and sufficiently uneasy, as if I just got off a rocking boat in the middle of high storm and north-east winds myself. I don’t think the pirates life is for me.
An experience I’ll not be forgetting anytime soon.Translated from by -
The Graduate 1967
It’s my last semester of uni, I’ve been occasionally feeling like a screwup, and am just coming off a hard rejection, so nothing better than I comfort movie, right?
Ironically enough, the flavored toxicity of both major relationships in the film was both enticing and amusing. Safe to say it didn’t do much for my comfort nor processing😅
Such an interesting take on the development of a lost post-grad searching for a basic sense of meaning after leaving the comfort…
