A film that is equal parts beautiful and disgusting.

Very strange and hard to follow. To the point that I don’t think I fully understood what was happening for a good portion of the runtime.
Really enjoyed this though and will definitely need to rewatch in the future.

The true story is interesting enough without muddying it with filler content that doesn’t get resolved in any meaningful way. If embellishments are going to be made to a dramatized version of a real life case, at least embellish a more satisfying ending to tie things up.
Aside from my personal opinion on the storytelling, the performances are great. Naomi Watts, Mia Farrow, and Jennifer Coolidge all do great in their roles. They made the show worth watching if for nothing else.
A favorite from childhood that features my first ever male crush. We love to see it.
