The Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires

Flawed, but I still like it. Oddly paced in a way that does not always feel deliberately methodical. Runs out of gas in the last five minutes, but overall, it's still more enjoyable than a lot of Hammer's output in the 1970s. It has respect for Peter Cushing and his talents. The depictions of Chinese vampirism and boogeyman folklore feel authentic and genuinely eerie. The martial arts choreography is fun.

I can't remember the last time a movie made me this tense and uncomfortable (good thing).

It doesn't matter what year it is, upstate New York hippies will always be unnerving. Just a great, weird lo-fi scary movie with lots of psychological fragility.

There is a Shelley Duvall-esque orphan in this and she's kind of deranged. Casper is an annoying little sh*t.
