"really, really wanted there to have been somebody else's kid in that dam, or a runaway, a murder victim... just anybody else's. just as long as it wasn't my kid. just as long as it wasn't alice."

everyone who knows me knows this is my favourite film by now, i never stop talking about it; and even if some of my friends and many others online disagree, this is a beyond perfect film. i just can't comprehend how lake mungo…

6th time watching this seriously perfect film. i hadn't seen it for over two years but it hasn't left my mind for a moment since. surprising how many people seem to have seen this film on letterboxd (and how many people dislike it wtf), because i haven't met or seen a single, one person who has ever spoken about or even heard of this movie. i feel like im watching a gorgeous sunset on a beach that no one has…

very very powerful and compelling right from the off. not a fault in the structure or fundamentals of this film, technically it's wonderful. the script has near-constant highs and hits every emotional beat it sets out to. no beating around the bush, no eggshells being walked on, this is unapologetic and tremendous. can't possibly praise the performances enough.

some wonky fx here and there that gave me a good giggle, but even at such a length this thing flies by. and that's because it's fun! good job chris columbus, daniel radcliffe, rupert grint, and emma watson. fuck jk rowling

absoutely insane. all the unexplainable, the big, the small, the pale and the colourful are all pushing and shoving to get front and centre in this. kudo is also pushing and shoving, as well as beating and killing. the kudo method remains effective.

i really respect the fact that even though koji shiraishi knows he's not going to have the facilities to pull off these magnificent effects, he still commits to it 100% regardless. he believes in this, and he…

this should be framed as a horror movie if anything. she's fucking horrible. absolutely cruel, delusional and narcissistic. god forbid the boy you like is in love with a genuinely kind person!! the boy who is clearly apathetic to your existence by the way!!! this whole film just filled me with vitriol. and i get that she realised her wrongs at the end but she didn't even apologise to julia. this hurt to watch.
