as a trans woman with internet poisoning who tried really hard to build a professional comedy career pre-covid, watching this felt like someone wrung out the wet sponge of my brain and somehow turned the juices into a film. yet for as many times as this movie felt like home, like my life, it never stopped surprising me, delighting me, heartwrenching me. i laughed and i cried and i cried and laughed and laughed and cried all at once. The People's Joker is a beautiful beautiful gift to the world
