Maybe it’s recency bias? Maybe it’s my new favourite film? Who’s to say?
Just so tender and thoughtful. The thematic clashing of a father fighting their internal demons and a daughter growing out of their childhood innocence creates this intense emotional balance that I think sums up being alive. Taking the good with the bad, struggling but being with someone you love.
It’s hard to culminate thoughts on a film like this so quick after seeing it and no doubt I’ll make some rash statements but hey! It was a very beautiful film and my favourite of the year so far.
