goddamn uh, fascism + fantasy is a brutal and amazing combination. Fantasy and stories are not necessarily an escape for Ofelia but are her way of understanding the real and troubling world she lives in, one where the morals of fairy tales don't exist. Good does not always prevail over evil, the princess doesn't escape her evil stepfather alive after making the "right" choice.
