With its cast of cartoonish characters coming in and out of scenes and the small rotation of locations, Friday feels like a stage comedy. And it succeeds at the hilarity with a mix of quality gags, iconic performances, and silly quotables. Where it lands on the comedy, it wobbles on the subtext and story - it's clunky storytelling but stylistically interesting.

Love Again 2023
A fundamentally flawed romcom.
The plot device that initiates Love Again's central relationship renders it null and void yet the film just moves past it like any other romcom. The male lead character and actor is also weak. There are a handful of amusing moments via the various side characters but that's about all the film has to offer.

It's a jarring rewatch, having misremembered this as a kid's film, after watching it as a kid.

That aside, the film…
