    Dick Laurent is dead.

What an incredible experience seeing this on the big screen - with a reading by Christian Fuchs from his book Das Glühen im Dunkeln: Wie mir Filme das Leben retteten and his posting on Lynch‘s passing (goosebumps!).

Scary, funny, ambiguous through and through. Lynchian.

I won’t try to analyse or interpret all to much into what I’ve just seen. I’m trying to purely experience and feel.
It’s a plot that kicks you around with no regard…

Now is now. Next time is next time.

It’s been about a year since I first saw this in cinema. Rewatching it now at home (in 4K) it’s incredible how beautiful it is and how moving this story and the whole film are, maybe it’s even more touching now on the rewatch than the first time.

So, to go against what is predestined, one must jump.

a different kind of scary, just feels like evil looming over you.
The soundtrack really added a lot to the eerie feel this movie had from start to finish.

And for what? For a little bit of money? There's more to life than a little money, you know. Don'tcha know that?

This is just such a truly special film. The amount of little details lets you discovered something new with every rewatch and it really keeps its spark. I also forget every time just how great this is shot.

Seeing this on the big screen is really a joy!

The way this was shot, it sometimes looked like horror, like a romance or a documentary. At times it was really grainy, and then it wasn’t.

It felt like Gracie and Elizabeth were fighting to hide and uncover the truth respectively was really interesting, but I wish it would’ve been explored more deeply. I think along the questions of morality and trauma this is also one major one - who succeeded?

The reoccurring thing with the two of them talking…

    In heaven everything is fine.

I am deeply heartbroken that it took his passing for me to finally see this film.

A very impressive and haunting experience. I’ve got a lot of thoughts about what Lynch is trying to say with this, if he even is trying to say something specific, but I believe this needs some time and a couple rewatches for me to be able to put that into words.

Still a very moving film, and I enjoyed…
