Straight off the bat... This could easily have been an hour shorter without hurting the storyline. Some scenes were just unnecessarily drawn out whole other character/relationship scenes felt rushed!
I did enjoy the change of setting and the introduction of some of the rest of the Pandorum World!
Cinematography was of course stunning but it was slightly marred by some continuity errors.
I would watch it again, all whilst knowing I could nip away to wash the dishes and wouldn't risk missing much!
Ok, confession... I only watched this cause my husband wanted to watch it! I don't like horrors. Whilst I can appreciate the cinematic work of the original Hellraiser, this new one was a bit too shiny and lacked mystery and mystique. It was like an episode of Scooby Doo on crack! The so called BDSM elements that everyone is talking about just doesn't ring true and the acting just all seemed a bit forced and overworked! I won't watch it again but even for horror fans, I wouldn't recommend it... Stick with the original!
By far and away one of DiCaprios best ever performances. This hard hitting and frankly, at times, hard to watch film strips away any misconceptions about recreational drugs, and gives a full on dirty view of the destructive power of addiction and the damage it causes. A young DiCaprio gives a mature, no holds barred, emotive and powerful performance in this film! It's a must watch. Fans of Euphoria, White Girl and Train Spotting may like this movie!
An excellent glimpse into the madness of a drug fueled summer, giving a clear demonstration of the dark underbelly that goes alongside it. A cautionary tale reminiscent of the Basketball Diaries (Leonardo DiCaprio), with a feel of madness similar to Euphoria (Zandaya). Well directed and well shot.
