What the fuck.
If there’s one thing that gets to me, it’s 100% body horror. This is one of the most creepy and disgusting films I’ve seen in the cinema, a big part due to the stellar sound design and makeup/practical effects department. Every gooey noise just freaked me out. Very much The Fly meets an episode of Black mirror. Topped off with some great performances from Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley.
Think it’s going to be one that’ll stick in my brain for a good wee while but if you’re squeamish with blood/gore/slime in horror then this could be a brutal one for you

The Jared Leto Joker-ification of Eric Draven.
While I can appreciate that this film didn’t just try and copy the original film and went for a different take on the original story from the graphic novel, I feel it just didn’t work never mind be a patch on the first film.
