    • Remarkable all around, 98 minutes and doesn’t drag at any point, great acting, and has a really strong ending. I guess there’s a bit of suspending disbelief that this guy really couldn’t tell his own wife apart even with a different face, but it lands its compelling premise nonetheless

    • The visual style of Yamada’s films is very distinct and that’s no different working with Science Saru, beautifully detailed with fluid character animation throughout
    • Kind of an understated movie narratively but was sweet and the direction/music gives it pleasant atmosphere
    • Great dub, especially since the songs at the end are done in English too
    • I felt more could’ve been done with the concept of seeing people as colors, though that kind of falls off in the background in favor of the forming a band focus

It’s not often we see epic sci-fi/fantasy filmmaking this masterfully crafted, the level of passion poured into this adaptation is evident from the first few seconds and doesn’t let up til credits roll. Just awesome stuff

Have no idea how I overlooked Dreamworks making something this spectacular. Would easily would put this alongside the finest of animated films I’ve seen, the artistry of it blew me away and can see how it’s considered timeless in that regard

I wouldn’t say I’m religious, but as a retelling of the Book of Exodus they clearly put a ton of care into it, especially with how Moses and Rameses are portrayed. Even without the context, their relationship as they…
