  In retrospect, just a genuine horror movie for the modern age.

  The pandemic was so weird. We were washing our groceries and fighting over fucking toilet paper. While society plunged into chaos, somehow, I think we collectively ignored or repressed the perspective of how bad the body count was. I don’t know what’s worse. This film brings all of those feelings back and, because of that, it’s not really a fun watch. Nonetheless, I’m still blown away by its foreshadowing…

  A modern tragedy wrapped up in a beautifully colored set and seemingly light premise. I left this movie feeling super sad for Truman — a character destined to live a manufactured life, devoid of love and honesty. It’s odd to see, even without real love, he still felt real pain.

  If the movie dropped today, it’d be too on the nose, as it critiqued reality tv and our world’s innate obsession with consumption.

  Jim gives a performance of a lifetime.…
