I’ve never seen a film like this before, the expectations vs reality scene was just such a perfect illustration of the soul crushing realisation that expectations are just that, they’re make belief and the reality is always different. At least I felt this on a personal level as someone who creates expectations in their head and is often left heartbroken or disappointed.
This was such a tragic film from the beginning but also very sweet and funny but that’s just Joseph. I love that it’s raw and doesn’t romanticise love like most romances, just our idea of love.
