“You know, I used to live like Robinson Crusoe; I mean, shipwrecked among 8 million people. And then one day I saw a footprint in the sand, and there you were.”
A fantastic movie, movie-wise.

Elvis impersonators, severed heads, presidential assassinations, Dr Pepper, adultery, weapons of mass destruction, elephant murder, ju-jitsu, corrupt politicians, secret agents, body parts, American Idol, Nietzsche, 9/11 conspiracies, foot fetishes, emotional support parrots, embalming your own mother, and a tranquilized chihuahua named Moocow.
I just watched a masterpiece.
Though this is widely regarded as one of the greatest movies ever made, I have to say that I find Taxi Driver utterly abhorrent.
To start off, I’ll be honest and say that I’m biased. I struggle to watch films where depravity is a main theme (I.e. Requiem for a Dream, Trainspotting, Wolf of Wall Street), but Taxi Driver strikes me as particularly problematic in its message.
Sure, most viewers would probably say that the film paints a scathing picture…
I know I’m in the minority here, but this was painful to sit through. It’s hard for me to watch a movie where every character is staring at me like this the entire time 😃😃🤪🤪🤪🤡😃😃😃😃
