Alien 1979
Truly an iconic movie. The quintessential "they don't make them like they used to". There is not much that can be said that hasn't been said already but one thing I noticed during this watch was how good the sound design was. The ship noises felt so natural and there was one moment where it went completely silent to build tension and it made me appreciate the sounds even more.

Borderlands 2024
I did not think this was bad. Having played most of the Borderlands franchise I thought they at least got most of the setting and feel spot on. Acting was rough, I still think some casting decisions were questionable. Why was Kevin Hart even in this? Jack Black did a real respectable clap trap though and I came away thinking Tiny Tina was also a bright spot. I think the plot was fine for a video game movie. I would say you're kind of expected to know the gist of what a Borderlands game is though.
