  funny, emotional and inherently political because of the stories it tells but also because of the world that is created around the central characters. Deaf and trans identities feel normalised, it’s a film about class, being Deaf, being queer but also about a mother/child relationship and finding one’s place — somehow all of those themes flow together, accompanied by a fun and poignant soundtrack. 

  and no, the trans themes were not too much or age inappropriate for young teens, as one person felt the need to comment during the q&a.
