Brown Sugar 2002
Hip hop version of when Harry met Sally! At the time of this film, the P Diddys, etc was all about the bling, and elaborate lifestyles that bleed into hip hop. And the messages it shares has no love, no spirit, of the place it originated from. Mos Def is always in my book a underrated artist, and actor. Story is a little cliche, but it’s wonderful soundtrack seeping intoxicating your viewing experience.
