On one hand it’s a wonderful thriller with a somewhat open but fulfilling conclusion and yet on the other it’s perhaps a bit too much of a slow burner to make it stand out to me. Sometimes films are exceptional due to their slow burn but this one just lacked something and I can’t quite articulate what that something was.

For a first time viewer who hasn’t watched any prior Spider-Man movies or read the comics it was easy to understand and follow. This meant that I could just immerse myself in its greatness from the get go with gradual lore being spoon fed to me naturally as it progressed, which I appreciated a lot!

It was a visual delight and I loved how playful and funny it was. Alongside its humour it handled suspense and serious themes very well…
