  The creative and memorable cinematography, direction, screenplay, and performances in Birdman take the audience on a bumpy amusing ride through the dark, claustrophobic passageways of a Broadway theatre as Riggan Thomson (Michael Keaton) tries to revive his career and self-worth by putting on a show.

  One powerful and electric scene involves Mike (Edward Norton) passionately rehearsing the play with Riggan. Mike effectively improves the play and Riggan's performance by cutting out superfluous sentences. Mike's script/play doctoring is a great example…
