    This actually handled the concept much better than I expected it to. I was engaged and I thought the descent into savagery was actually very well acted and well paced. However, I can’t rate it high due to technical aspects. The intro scene as well as several ADRs are laughably bad.

    I feel like this movie is basically perfect, but something just didn’t quite connect with me this first watch. I want to give this another chance knowing the intent behind it, as it really shifted my perspective on the whole thing

    But seriously, this is one of the most nuanced, expertly composed, expertly crafted films I’m seen in a while. Bong Joon Ho truly is one of the greatest to ever do it. I forgive you for your recent sins (gives the same vibe as saying “he made Graduation tho” about Kanye)

    Definitely deserved the Oscar. Lowkey wish The Wild Robot was more like this; the quiet bits of that movie were the best parts. I love the almost-human world in the story that’s just strange enough to not be earth but not 100% fantasy
