It is very rare that a film makes me enjoy fight scenes but the ones in this one were incredible - and they didn’t drag!
Secondly, I LOVED the visuals and the soundtrack. Thought the acting was really on point as well.
My biggest criticism would be that it didn’t reallyyy reach me emotionally.
Disclaimer: I haven’t watched the first gladiator yet.

As someone who didn’t grow up with Spielberg and thus someone without the personal connection to his work, this film failed to move me.
It is, without doubt, beautifully shot and I very much adored the first part. Albeit a slow burn, the different positions of most characters were incredibly well-developed and once they all came together, made for a very touching story. The cinematography around light and darkness was brilliant - that train scene has to be one of my favourites in a long time.
Also, never have I ever before seen human trafficking in a not entirely negative light (am I allowed to say this?).
