Even though the fairytale it self has, throughout it’s existence been rewritten to focus on the message that ‘curiosity killed the cat ’ * or the wives in this instance*, the film is more of a man’s fear of rejection or what is done to avoid it. Judith married Bluebeard knowing he’s past wives disappeared and in spite of her family’s objections, as soon as she arrived she asked him to open all the doors to let the light in.…

As I was putting of this film for so long I unfortunately heard enough hints to figure out the twist at the vary beginning, although even with the lack of shock I loved every second of it, every hint in the film itself as well.
