One dimensional characterisation and bad writing make this an excruciating two hours. Even the inherent campness of the subject is undermined by the blandness of the film. I didn't have any pre-existing opinions on Tammy Faye as I hadn't heard of her, but the biopic puts her on a pedestal, hence giving a shallow portrayal which does not feel true.
