  Léon: The Professional 1994

  The door opens for one of Leon’s hits and it’s Chris Hansen standing on the other side. 

  “Out killing tonight are we, why don’t you take a seat…So Leon, what are doing going around murdering people with a 14 year old girl?” 

  And then Leon just blows his head off.

  Very fun, but I can’t help but notice how this film has been made about 20 times over the past 5 years: 

  Group of friends go to a house. 
  One of them is more shy and reserved than the rest of them. 
  They have a partner who is slightly controlling and distant (possibly interested in someone else in the group) 
  Something wacky happens and it sets off a crazy chain of events. 
  Also remember to add millennial quirk humour. 

  (To be fair though I knew nothing about this film going in and it did pleasantly shock me with its twists)

  This is one of the first new releases I’ve disliked that I’ve seen everyone else enjoy, so no funny one liners today, real journalism straight from the teet.  

  I watched Fury Road a few weeks ago and thought it was a masterpiece. The unique and stylistic cinematography and editing, which fit perfectly with the aesthetic. The non stop action that felt completely natural and in time with the story. They had the formula.
