"Mulholland Drive is pretty sexy."
- Philip Seymour Hoffman
Nietzsche once said, "When you gaze long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you." Here he was describing how I felt watching Paddington 2.
This film is hopeless in every sense of the word...
Hopeless in its false depiction of life
Hopeless by its draining and pandering for something more meaningful than our own pathetic excuse called existence.
Hopeless in its refusal to acknowledge the burden of shame, shame that we feel every day. Insulting us, as this…
This movie is straight up problematic, one of the worst things I’ve ever seen.
Things in this movie are too perfect, too wholesome and too full of childlike wonder that can touch audiences no matter their age (yuck!). Everything goes the right way for Paddington and this gives a false expectation for children all over the world that life is happy and perfect, when we all know that isn’t the case. Sorry Paddington (if that is your real name) but you won’t fool me into being happy, not for one second.
