The Green Knight 2021
After multiple viewings, I’ve come to realise just how much of a masterpiece this film truly is. The score is fantastically haunting, the cinematography is stunning, and the storytelling is rich with myth and mystery. The blend of the real and the surreal is brilliantly done, keeping you on your toes and making every moment feel significant. The more you watch, the more you uncover, and it’s such a satisfying experience. What a fantastic way to start the new year—once…

Gladiator II 2024
The original Gladiator holds a cherished place in my early teenage memories, a film that captured the awe and grandeur of Hollywood at its best. Watching GLADIIATOR now, as a 40-year-old who’s grown weary of modern blockbuster, particularly cash grab sequels, it does little to transport me back to those heady days, aside from the rather dizzying yet nostalgic opening credits.
My biggest issue is the lack of authenticity, a recurring problem with Ridley Scott’s work. While he excels at creating…

Mickey 17 2025
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
I wasn’t sure what to expect from Mickey 17, but given my past experience with Bong Joon Ho’s films, I was cautious. This turned out to be very similar in tone and style to Snowpiercer—and like that, I really didn’t enjoy it. Which is a shame, because I love Pattinson, and once again, he doesn’t put a foot wrong. He does the best he can with what he’s given, but it’s just not enough.
The biggest issue? It’s neither fun…

Sing Sing 2023
Art as redemption, performance as liberation. Sing Sing moves with quiet grace, finding beauty not in grand gestures but in the spaces between—shared laughter, unspoken understanding, the simple act of being seen. Colman Domingo is magnetic, but the soul of the film belongs to the ensemble, their brotherhood turning a place of confinement into something boundless. It lingers, not as a plea for sympathy, but as a testament to dignity, resilience, and the transformative power of storytelling. And then, the score 🤌
A timely reminder why I love film so much.

Finding Michael 2023
I’ve never heard of Spencer Matthews before this but what an incredibly unlikable man. Unbelievably devoid of empathy which I find an extremely troubling trait in an individual. I’ve seen a lot of truly incredible documentaries about climbing and the devastating losses that often follow but this just felt very off and really didn’t sit well with me throughout. A true polar opposite to Torn which captures all the emotions Spencer appears to lack or finds unable to share whilst also being a superiorly made film.
