The Elephant Man 1980
A moving depiction of a man of not only exceptional appearance but also personality. After watching the movie I first was surprised by the really classical - nearly predictable - storyline and evolution of tension but when I learned of how accurate this story was told compared to the real life of Joseph Merrick I realized how perfect a biography full of suffering but also struggling for self-actualization was shown, first and foremost due to the incomparable acting of John Hurt.
