The biggest problem with this film is how good its opening is. It sets the bar so high that some moments during the long runtime of the movie just don't feel quite as good. The first hour is fantastic, and I'm glad it takes its time to let us see how things unfold. But during the second hour of the movie, it starts feeling just a bit too much. Wonderful movie. Even if the story here isn't the most interesting for me, I still felt engrossed in it by the end. Loved how the city looked, with all the details, almost like a real place. And Kiki, even though a witch, is an interesting and relatable character.

There's not a single good thing I can say about this film. The core idea itself is already weird, but the way it was made into a film is just terrible. Yes, it's a tearjerker. But it's also great when it comes to showing family dynamics and how people try to get along with each other. I loved both of the main actors' performances. This is easily one of the best films of the year and I think it deserves more recognition than it gets. It's just hard to believe that this is Pat Boonnitipat's feature debut, since it's almost a perfect movie.
