Every movie in this franchise is worse than the previous one. And since it's already the fourth film, the drop in quality so far has been significant. What worked very well more than two decades ago just feels like it doesn't belong in this time now. Bridget Jones is still a charming character, but I think we've seen enough of her.

The biggest problem with this film is how good its opening is. It sets the bar so high that some moments during the long runtime of the movie just don't feel quite as good. There's not a single good thing I can say about this film. The core idea itself is already weird, but the way it was made into a film is just terrible. Yes, it's a tearjerker. But it's also great when it comes to showing family dynamics and how people try to get along with each other. I loved both of the main actors' performances. This is easily one of the best films of the year and I think it deserves more recognition than it gets. It's just hard to believe that this is Pat Boonnitipat's feature debut, since it's almost a perfect movie.
