Smile 2 2024
The emphasis on the main character’s life and career was overdone to the point that it ironically took away from the actual story. Throughout the entire movie I was waiting for for some sort of pick up, the only scenes that grabbed my attention were the short jump scares that were consistently foreshadowed and made predictable by silence. Due to the obvious tell before each jump scare, the theatre was also filled with silence.

Rather than creating a strong buildup the movie focuses on visceral and seemingly constant gore. Without having seen the two prior movies, the plot needs a bit of explaining(particularly the character’s relations). The story is unimpressive, however, the focus of this movie is not such much the story but the violence and bloodshed.
