Well scripted B-movie that does a good job of balancing the broad comedy with fun characters and a decent creature feature premise.

    The Batman

    ½

    Ponderous, gloomy and dull.

Pattinson is woefully ineffective as Wayne/The Batman (oh how I wish Affleck had a decent film for his Batman), he had more in common with Eric Draven/The Crow; an angsty emo with a side order of petulance.

The three hour running time is completely unjustified and doesn't even include an origin story (not that I wanted one).

    Utterly forgettable.

Sorcerers: A Conversation with William Friedkin and Nicolas Winding Refn

    ★★★½

I've seen snippets of this interview before and whilst Refn's constant references to himself being a younger Freidkin wear thin, it's a fun conversation and Friedkin is an excellent raconteur and I love the way he rejects pretty much all of Refn's movie related postulations.
I have a lot of time for both of these film makers and their work, you can always expect some fascinating insights and controversial opinions, but at the end of the day they're both film fans and I reckon that's what I relate to the most.

    3 times a charm.

It's like I'M in some sort of temporal pincer movement.

To be honest it's the gift that keeps on giving and I can't feel myself ever getting bored of rewatching this film. Repeated viewings really do show how much thought and effort went into the plot and structure.
    Quite, quite brilliant.
