Pan's Labyrinth 2006
Re-watching this after a long time for an essay.
What a film. Just an absolute work of art. The creation and maintenance of tension is outstanding.
Unbelievably compelling characters and striking cinematography.
But what stands out for me the most, probably as I'm writing about death in my essay, is the combination of catharsis and melancholy in the conclusion. The dichotomy between triumph and tragedy is marvellously executed and utterly heartwrenching.

Possibly the worst Winston Churchill I've seen but a fun stupid film nonetheless. A weaker Ritchie and it won't be remembered but there were definitely some enjoyable moments.
