Bird 2024
Really enjoyed a magical realist take on Andrea Arnold’s usual themes of class, poverty, abuse in poor working class communities, it was less bleak and more creative!
A little underdeveloped with some gender identity and race issues. To me Bailey’s character had major enby vibes and Franz Rogowski’s ethereal Bird character was obviously a skirt-wearing genderless guardian angel!
Absolutely could not stand Barry Keoghan’s character though, I found his acting really insufferable in this film.

Wow, I’m actually so conflicted over this film. I laughed a lot during, sometimes out of shock; sometimes genuine. And I think I stand by the fact that it was hilarious. Then we got to the same c*** and f*** jokes and I ran out of gas a bit.
