This was so good? Why did I hear so many bad things about it?
Loved the lore, loved the characters (you could have never told me Tilda Swinton played the old man and I would’ve never noticed), imagery, shots. The beginning for sure dragged but once it got to THAT dancing scene I was tuned tf in.

Jfc this is like if Cinderella, Stephen King’s Carrie and Sloth from The Goonies made a love child or two or 8 and wrote a thesis on Female Rage & Patriarchal Beauty Standards and then self imploded.
It was good! Thought-provoking, visually disturbing, made me deeply sad, definitely a horror movie I’ll never forget.
they hit the nail on the head too obviously at first to me but they did a great job leaning into the horror and ridiculousness of it all so that brought the rating back up.

I think I liked this movie? It was visually stunning and the soundtrack was hilarious, but I didn’t feel profoundly moved really. BUT I’m still thinking about it a day later, so must mean something.
And the amount of time I sat staring at all of the character’s faces was astronomical. Again-visually appealing, shots were well done and crisp, but for what?? Why did I need to watch Patrick bounce the tennis ball 47 times in slow motion?
