American Psycho 2000
I like psychological thriller, did you know I’m utterly insane? An astounding study on 80s Wall Street yuppies. It shows how materialistic and tone deaf the Wall Street scene really is and how someone in this world could be driven insane by the standards. One of my favorite scenes in the film is the card comparison scene. Somehow Mary Harron made a scene revolving around comparing business cards suspenseful. I attribute most of this to the sound design as the cards are showcased and Patrick’s irritated inner dialogue. Christian Bales performance as Patrick Bateman really solidifies this film as a cult classic.

Everything Everywhere All at Once 2022
Honestly, this movie is extremely refreshing. Through a year where we have had mostly Superhero movies or sequels, this movie stands out as an original. Throughout this year and the last I’ve been watching less and less movies because I usually come out disappointed, but this movie made me remember why I love film so much.
