Not the tone I expected but I liked that!!

The spaceship design is so good, interior and exterior! Loved Mark Ruffalo’s performance, he nailed it.

Pattinson so effortlessly differentiates the two Mickeys, but still makes them feel like the same guy. One isn’t cartoonishly different than the other, and they both have moments that complicate our basic understanding of their differences. And of course 17’s voice. How could you not love it.

I have a hard time not appreciating something this genuine, the filmmakers clearly truly believe in this story, as corny and sometimes derivative as it can be. There wasn’t a single ironic joke or mocking of the setting, and Sadie Sink is at the center taking it all completely seriously. It could be jarring to have that kind of mix of tones but honestly I liked the contrast!

Loved the visual style! Colorful locations that feel like reading some apocalyptic…
