A24 has perfected the art of releasing competent movies that have fantastic scores, slick cinematography, and just enough emotional prowess to get by. Babygirl is exactly that: A24 idiosyncrasy. It's slightly risqué fun that lures you in with its premise.

Barbie 2023

Barbie is a rapid fire critique of perfection and realism. It’s messy, strange, and hedonistic. It’s hilarious yet sometimes annoyingly so. Like Greta’s other work it is genuinely artistic. I rarely walk away from a modern movie and remember almost every costume and makeup choice. Both were nailed.
In good conscience, however, I cannot give something full praise when it includes an enormous Chevy SUV ad.
