Jodie Foster's performance=HOLY SHIT. Anthony Hopkins' performance=HOLY SHIT. Ted Levine's performance=HOLY SHIT. This film's screenplay=HOLY SHIT. Practically everything else here=HOLY SHIT. Plus the ever-awesome Fernando Sancho is here in one of his best and most memorable roles. An all-around winner for me and one of my favourite Spaghetti Westerns.

When you're slapped you'll take it and like it! Bogie does not fuck around one bit or take shit from anyone here. Before there was Bond, there was Sam Spade looking slick as hell in a suit and hat while (almost always) staying two steps ahead of the bad guys. Peter Lorre is unsurprisingly great as well, and Sydney Greenstreet is obscenely fun, charismatic, and memorable in his role - it's wild that this was his first film appearance (mind…
