Are you here? Are you always here? I miss you. I think about you all the time. I hear your voice say my name when I dream and when I wake up, there are tears streaming down my face. I just miss you, it's as simple as that. I want to tell you everything. I don't understand what you're saying. I can't hear your voice.”

First movie of the year hopefully isn’t indicative of things to come… or, well. Maybe…

    Hot take time.

I’ll just let it right out: Susan George is the primary villain of the movie. Now hear me out, 2023. Right from the opening scene we see her being the one inviting violence into the house as she has the giant poacher trap being carried to the car to bring home. She is literally bringing a GIANT HUMAN TRAP into the house. This is like comically on the nose, I don’t know how I haven’t heard anyone…

Best movie of 2023? 4? Whatever. One of my favorite movies of the last decade.

Original, ambitious, stylish, philosophical, cynical, intelligent, funny, sexy. Loaded with ideas, unique imagery, and amazing performances.

I love that this man has managed to steal industry money to make uncompromisingly weird and personal films miles deep with subtext and commentary. The only movie I walked out of last year (for new releases) that I felt like maybe we really could be entering a potential renaissance…

Pulls you in with a very stylish and intriguing setup but completely misses its landing. Became a chore and ended up frustratingly anti-climactic. Great looking. Loses its charm. Gags become predictable.

    The Clovehitch Killer

BTK home-invaded, tied up, strangled and asphyxiated ten people over the span of three decades while evading capture and leaving police scrambling in the dark. As far as serial killers go, BTK is an anomaly amongst the world of criminal psychology/profiling. He wasn’t abused as a child, nor had he experienced anything traumatic; he had fairly normal, appropriately affectionate parents; in the thirty+ years that he killed, he maintained the perfect all-American family life, having kids, a long term, faithful…

In 2001, a man in Germany put out an ad looking for someone who was willing to be cannibalized. Believe it or not, someone was down for it and they soon met up to get down to business. Obviously the man died as a result, but not before dining on parts of his own body with his new fed friend (and apparently being filmed or photographed throughout the process). Feed Me takes this bizarrely true incident and uses it as…
