Den of Thieves 2: Pantera 2025
Unexpectedly good sequel to the original and very underrated Den of Thieves. Didn’t expect it to happen but I’m happy it did. Starring Gerard Butler and O’Shea Jackson jr., heisting diamonds in Europe. Worth a watch. Three and a half stars.

We Own the Night 2007
A spiritual sequel to the Yards, also directed by James Gray and also starring Marky Mark and Joaquin Phoenix as two brothers on opposite sides of the law. Bobby Duvall and Eva Mendes round out the cast. Gritty NYC cops cracking scumbag Russian drug lords’ skulls before police brutality was frowned upon. They probably had it coming anyways though, right? Atmospheric and intense. Plus, an absolutely badass movie title. Four and a half stars.

Solid Woody Allen movie. Cat and mouse love triangle in upper class London that turns deadly. The most conflicting part of this movie is by the last thirty minutes, you can’t really decide if you want Chris to get caught or get away with it all. Are we secretly rooting for him? Incredulous at all the little things that play out in his favor? Also, they did the landlady pretty dirty - she didn’t deserve to go out like that. Four stars.
